TRAIN BETTER. RECOVER FASTER. PERFORM STRONGER.

Functional Sports Nutrition for Amateur Endurance Athletes

You put in the miles, commit to the training plan, and invest in the right kit. But if your nutrition isn't optimised, you're leaving performance on the table. I work with amateur endurance athletes who want to perform better, recover faster, and maintain their health throughout their training. Whether you're chasing a PB, preparing for your first marathon, or simply want to feel stronger, getting your nutrition right will support everything else you're working towards.

Do you experience any of these?

Hitting the wall mid-race or during long training sessions

Digestive issues (bloating, cramping, or worse) during exercise

Struggling with energy levels outside of training

Slow recovery between sessions or frequent niggles and injuries

Feeling unsure about fuelling, supplements, and what actually works

If any of these sound familiar, your nutrition strategy needs attention.

WHAT I FOCUS ON

MY APPROACH

Beyond Calories and Macros

As a Nutritional Therapist trained in Functional Medicine, I look beyond basic sports nutrition to understand what's actually happening in your body.

While macros, timing, and race-day fuelling are crucial, I also investigate:

  • Gut health - Nutrient absorption and digestive issues affecting performance

  • Inflammation - Chronic inflammation slowing recovery

  • Hormonal balance - Stress hormones impacting adaptation to training

  • Energy metabolism - Why you're hitting the wall despite adequate fuelling

  • Immune function - Frequent illness during peak training blocks

Frequently Asked Questions

Flexible scheduling for busy athletes

All programmes can be structured with either:

Bi-weekly 60-minute sessions - in-depth consultations with time between for implementation and training adaptation

Weekly 30-minute sessions - focused check-ins that fit around demanding training schedules

The total consultation time remains the same; we simply adjust the format to suit your diary and training plan. Many athletes find weekly check-ins provide better accountability during intense training blocks, while others prefer the deeper dive of longer bi-weekly sessions.

We'll discuss which format works best for you during your discovery call or initial consultation.
